Who I am

FUAAR studio is run by Nicolas Kruger in Cape Town, South Africa. I am the “responsible party” for your personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

What I collect and why

• Your name, email address and message. You choose to send these by email. The form on this site doesn’t store or send them: it opens your own email app, and nothing reaches me unless you press send there. I use them to reply to your enquiry and to quote for or carry out work. The basis is your consent and steps towards a contract.
• IP address, browser type and pages visited. My host collects these automatically in server logs, to keep the site running and secure.

Giving me your details is voluntary, but I can’t reply without an email address.

Who I share it with

I don’t sell your information. I use these service providers (“operators”):

• Google (Gmail), USA: where I receive and answer email.
• Vercel Inc., USA: hosts this website and keeps server logs.

Sending information outside South Africa

These providers may store data outside South Africa, including in the USA. By emailing me or using this site, you consent to that transfer so I can receive and answer your enquiry (POPIA section 72).

How long I keep it

I keep enquiries for 24 months after our last contact, unless you become a client. Client records are kept for as long as the law requires, such as tax records for 5 years, and then deleted.

Keeping it safe

I use reputable providers, encryption in transit (HTTPS) and strong authentication on my accounts. If I believe your information has been compromised, I will tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

Cookies and storage

This site doesn’t use advertising or analytics cookies, and it doesn’t set cookies of its own.

Your rights

You may ask what personal information I hold about you, and ask me to correct or delete it. You may also object to me processing it, or withdraw your consent. Email fuaarstudio@gmail.com. I’ll respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days.

If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your information, please contact me first.
